Loudoun County Nonprofit Grant Applications Available Nov. 13

The funding program is administered by Loudoun County and is open to human service nonprofit organizations.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Loudoun County recently announced the FY2021 grant application period for county human services nonprofits will open Nov. 13. The application will be available online for eligible organizations.

Eligible entities include 501(c)(3) organizations that provide human services to Loudoun County residents. Proposed projects must fit in the areas of need identified and approved by the Board of Supervisors.

The areas of need and the anticipated outcomes are:

  • Prevention and self-sufficiency: Services focused on assisting individuals and families in becoming and/or remaining independent and stable, and providing tools, skills, strategies, and resources to individuals and families.
  • Crisis intervention and diversion: Services provided to individuals and families in crisis to overcome immediate problems, or to help reduce or prevent the need for more restrictive and expensive higher-level services.·
  • Long-term support: Services that focus on assisting individuals who have continuing, long-term support needs to remain healthy, safe and independent in the community.
  • Improved quality of human services: Services and opportunities provided to individuals, organizations and communities that enhance the quality, accessibility, accountability and coordination of services provided by community organizations.

The online grant application, as well as a full timeline for the funding process, are scheduled to be posted at loudoun.gov/NonProfitGrants by 12 p.m. Nov. 13. Applications must be submitted by 12 p.m. Dec. 20.

In addition to the standard application process, a mini-grants process once again will be available for FY2021 funding. Mini-grants provide a simplified application for any nonprofit applying for a grant of $5,000 or less to fund small-scale innovative projects.

Loudoun County also will host two application development workshops on Nov. 15. Workshops will be held at the following times:

  • 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Cascades Library, Meeting Room A, 21030 Whitfield Pl., Potomac Falls.
  • 2:30-4:30 p.m., Rust Library, 380 Old Waterford Rd. N.W., Leesburg.

The workshop is recommended for all organizations seeking grant funding, and will cover changes to the application, as well as resources for building stronger organizations. There is no need to pre-register for either session.
