Loudoun Half Races 8k, Half Marathon, LoCo Mile, LoCo Challenge

The Ashburn Area Running Club’s Loudoun Half Races, presented by Inova Heart and Vascular Institute – Schaufeld Family Heart Center, is proud to announce the 2018 school recipients:
- Broad Run HS Track & Field and Cross Country
- Freedom HS Track & Field and Cross Country
- Heritage HS Track & Field and Cross Country
- John Champe HS Track & Field and Cross County
- Loudoun County HS Track & Field and Cross Country
- Riverside HS Track & Field and Cross Country
- Stone Bridge HS Track & Field and Cross Country
- Tuscarora HS Track & Field and Cross Country
Since 2013, the Loudoun Half Races has raised over $85,000 giving a portion of the proceeds to Track & Field and Cross Country school programs in Loudoun County.
“Despite the increase in popularity across Loudoun County, many of our local high schools do not have sufficient funding for their running programs. We raise money to supplement the schools’ budgets, enhancing these and other athletic programs,” said Lesley Green, Race Director, Loudoun Half Races.

Athletes from the school beneficiaries’ track teams will show school spirit and cheer runners on at water stations throughout the 8k and Half Marathon courses.
The fifth running of the Loudoun Half Races, 8k, Half Marathon, LoCo Mile and LoCo Challenge, will take place on April 21 and 22. Named the "2014 & 2015 Best Half Marathon of the Mid-Atlantic Region" by the readers of Competitor Magazine.
