Loudoun Toys For Tots Partners With Groups To Distribute Toys
For 2020, the Toys For Tots campaign in Loudoun County will partner with Help for Others, LINK, Mobile Hope and The Salvation Army.
LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Loudoun County is once again participating in this year's Toys for Tots campaign, but logistics will be handled a little differently this holiday season due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Rather than collecting donated toys this year, Loudoun County Toys for Tots will be purchasing them. The best way to support the program will be through monetary donations.
Each season, about 300 volunteers join the county in a warehouse to sort, count, pack and distribute 26,000 to 30,000 toys, assisting more than 8,000 children. This year, the county will not able to have large groups of volunteers working together in the warehouse at the same time.

In addition, Loudoun County fire stations, which have been the county's largest public toy drop-off locations, currently restrict access to on-duty personnel.
For 2020, the county will instead partner with four local nonprofit organizations: Help for Others, LINK, Mobile Hope and The Salvation Army.

Families and nonprofit groups requesting toys will be provided information on how to register with one of these four partnering organizations. Once registration is completed, each of the four partnering organizations will provide Loudoun County Toys for Tots with the total number of children signed up with them.
Loudoun County Toys for Tots will then order the toys online and work directly with local stores. The toys will be shipped directly to each of the four partnering organizations or the toy orders will be picked up at a local store. Loudoun County Toys for Tots representatives will be present to check the toy orders when they are received or ready for pick-up to confirm they are correct.
Each of the four partnering organizations will then distribute the toys to the families on their scheduled distribution dates.
This year, the best way to support the program, will be through monetary donations. To donate online, click on the “Donate Local” red button on the top left of the home page.
