With all of the warmer days we’ve been having in Virginia and West Virginia, both home to Arcadia Communities, it’s hard not to get excited about the upcoming spring season. This winter has been colder and snowier than normal and we can all agree that warmer temperatures couldn’t get here any faster!
But this also means that it’s time to pack up those seasonal winter decorations and stow away heavy winter jackets and snow pants. Unfortunately, this time of year can be stressful for many homeowners; where are they going to store all of their winter belongings? Not for homeowners at Arcadia Communities! With ample storage space, walk-in closets, and plenty of convenient closets throughout the homes, switching winter out with spring is as stress-free as it gets. Here are a few more things residents at Arcadia Communities can do to improve their spring-cleaning undertaking this year:

Spring-cleaning will feel endless when there’s no end in sight! Write up a to-do list detailing everything that needs to be done. It may seem like a small task, but it will keep you organized and will allow you to stay on task. Knowing how little or how much is left to do can be a great motivator!
Organize

There’s no better time to get organized than the present! Even more so if you’ve just moved into your new Arcadia Communities home. Use this time to set the tone for the rest of the year. De-clutter the mudroom, buy new shelving for the play area, and label cubbies and containers. Once you’ve organized all you can, enjoy it! Finding items where they’re supposed to be will be such a relief – and allow you to actually go out and enjoy the beautiful weather!
Donate
With growing kids, it can feel like you’re constantly buying new clothing, so why not help get the most out of each item? Before you pack away all of your winter clothing, sort through and find pieces that won’t’ be worn next year and donate them to a good cause. This will free up space in your home, but more importantly, will help another family in the future.
Spruce up Furniture
You don’t need to go out and buy an entirely new dining room set, you can revamp and freshen the look with a few small touches. After deep cleaning any couches and chairs, go ahead and find a few spring-inspired throw pillows or decorations. This can liven a tired room and help it appear brighter and cleaner.
With spring on the horizon, this is the perfect time to get a head start to welcoming the season. Who knows, maybe a little wishful thinking will warm the temperatures sooner!
