9-Year-Old Boy And Two Teens Charged With Robbery At Manassas Vape Shop: Police

A 9-year-old boy, a 13-year-old boy, and a 14-year-old boy were arrested after they were accused of trying to break into a vape shop.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — A 9-year old boy, a 13-year-old boy, and a 14-year-old boy were arrested on Sunday in Manassas, according to the Prince William County Police Department. The boys were accused of robbing the Bristow Vapes store on Nokesville Road, police said.

Officers responded to the vape shop around 2 a.m. on Sunday, according to the police department's incident report. Investigators said the shop's owner received an alarm notification shortly after he left the business.

"The store owner contacted the police before driving back to the store where he observed three unknown juveniles attempting to gain entry into the business," the police department wrote in their report. "The store owner confronted the juveniles and fired multiple rounds from his firearm into the air."

Two of the boys were then detained by the store owner and an acquaintance, police said. Officers took custody of the boys, who police identified as a 9-year-old and a 13-year old. They were charged with robbery before being released to a family member. No entry was made into the business, and no property was reported missing.

A 14-year-old boy was also charged with robbery and possession of burglarious tools, according to authorities.

The children were not identified by name due to laws intending to protect the identities of children.

The owner of Bristow Vapes was charged with one count of reckless handling of a firearm, the police department said. He was released on a summons and is scheduled to return to court on Nov. 5.
