If you have a middle school student (rising 6th thru 9th grader), consider applying for the Leadership Prince William Summer Youth Academy. This unique, two-week summer program includes amazing field trips, a chance to learn about possible career paths, hands-on learning to develop leadership and communication skills, and a lot of fun.

The Leadership Prince William Youth Academy is a two-week program to help students develop lifelong leadership skills, connect with other young leaders and learn about their community. The program provides hands-on learning, community field trips, connection with adult leaders and leadership skill development.

Highlights include field trips/activities such as:

Public Safety: Tour the PWC Fire & Rescue training facility (can include fire truck simulators, K9 and SWAT team demos)

History & Government: Mock trial at the PWC Circuit Court with the attorney general’s office

Tour of Occoquan Historic sites with former Mayor Porta

Money Know-How: Makin’ It Real, Building a Budget

STEM Education: Tour of Micron Technology

Your Thinking Preference: Total Emergenetics STEP analysis.

This program will be held at the Youth For Tomorrow campus in Bristow, VA

Academy topics range from Economic Development & Planning to Education, Arts & Culture, Public Safety, Communications and more. The program provides hands-on learning, community field trips, meeting with adult community leaders and leadership skill development.
