Fatal Shooting: Four Suspects Arrested, Fifth Man Sought

Three men shot Saturday following a fight in a Gainesville parking lot and a previous argument in Chantilly, according to police.

Four suspects have been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting in Gainesville on Saturday, according to Prince William County Police. A fifth suspect is being sought.

Officers responded to a call regarding shots fired at 1:50 a.m. Saturday in the area of of Old Linton Hall Rd and Charis Avenue.

Claude Lee Jackson III, 23, of Gainesville, was found at the scene suffering from a gunshot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital, where he died. A second victim found at the scene, age 22 of Bristow, was critically injured, according to police.

The third victim, aged 24 of Manassas, walked into a area hospital with a graze wound on his hand.

Investigators say the shootings occurred following a fight at a nearby shopping center and it was connected to an argument between the men a week earlier in Chantilly.

Alvin Burnett Jones, 32, of the 8600 block of Sumter Ct in Manassas Park, is wanted on charges of murder and aggravated malicious wounding. Police describe Jones as a black male, 5’11”, 165lbs with long black dreadlocks and brown eyes.

Arrested between Monday and Tuesday:

  • Calvin Jones, 31, of 8637 Sumter Ct in Manassas Park, charged with murder, felony assault by mob, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
  • Wayne Carmichael Kennedy, 32, of 14882 Lambeth Sq in Centreville, charged with murder and aggravated malicious wounding.
  • Derrick Nathaniel Jones, 26, of 8637 Sumter Ct in Manassas Park, charged with accessory to murder and felony assault by mob.
  • David Lennel Broadnax, 31, of 9590 Covington Pl in Manassas, charged with accessory to murder and felony assault by mob.

All are being held without bond.

This was the county’s third murder in 2015.
