Fire On New Year's Day Destroys Manassas Home: Authorities
A Manassas area home was "totally destroyed" in a New Year's Day fire, according to Prince William County officials.

MANASSAS, VA — A fire destroyed a home in the Manassas area on New Year's Day, according to the Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue.
Authorities said one firefighter was injured in the blaze. They received treatment at a local medical facility, but their injury was not life-threatening.
Officials have not determined what could have caused the fire that displaced four adults and three children.

The fire broke out around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday at a home in the 5900 block of Yates Ford Road. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they saw flames extending through the roof of the home.
" The volume of fire and structural damage made extinguishment more difficult and time consuming," officials said in a news release. "The home was totally destroyed."
