Tips for eating and staying healthy through the holidays!

Dear Readers,

Your friends at DetoxForHealth wish you a happy Thanksgiving! Because we want you to think of this place as a healthy one, we’ve come up with a list of tips and a turkey soup recipe to help you eat in healthy ways through the holidays. Remember that staying healthy does not equal deprivation. In fact, if you feel deprived, you’re not doing something right! Also remember that stress affects your health, too. So take a look and see what we recommend. No matter what your traditions are, enjoy them with family and friends.

In gratitude and health,
Marijana Barr

Tips for a Healthy Holiday

  • Buy as many organic foods as you can find to make your Thanksgiving dinner.
  • Drink plenty of water throughout the day, especially while you’re cooking.
  • Make sure you have turkey and vegetables on your dinner plate. The rest is optional.
  • Stay warm and relax as much as possible.
  • Weather permitting, take a short walk after dinner.
  • Stay out of the stores! Stores at this time of the year are stressful places.
  • Use your turkey leftovers to make a healthy soup for Friday (see our recipe below).
