Halloween Burglary Attempted By Masked, Armed Person In Haymarket: Police
Authorities in Prince William County are looking for a person who attempted to break into a Haymarket home on Halloween armed with a gun.

HAYMARKET, VA — An armed person in a Halloween mask tried to break into a Haymarket home on Halloween, according to the Prince William County Police Department. Now, authorities are working to identify the person.
Officers responded to a home in the 15100 block of Fog Mountain Circle on Halloween to investigate an attempted burglary. The officers arrived at the home around 10:40 p.m., according to the police report.
There, a homeowner told police that he received an alarm notification earlier in the evening. The alarm reported that there was someone at the rear of the home. However, when the homeowner checked the area, he did not see anyone, police said.

"Video surveillance footage revealed that an unknown individual approach the rear of the residence and attempt to enter the home through the back door which was found secured," the police department wrote in their report. "No entry was made into the residence."
The suspect is described as a "light-skinned male" who is between 15 and 20 years old. He is about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, and weighs approximately 180 pounds, according to authorities. The suspect has short dark hair.

At the time of the break-in attempt, the suspect was wearing a black Halloween mask, a light-colored sweatshirt, and black or gray shoes. He was also carrying a backpack and a firearm, police said.
