HAYMARKET, VA — A Haymarket man was arrested twice last week, according to the Prince William County Police Department. He was arrested once after he was accused of driving a vehicle at a family member. He was arrested again later after he was accused of throwing knives at the family member.

Prince William County police officers were originally called to a home in the 14400 block of Otis Ct. in Haymarket to investigate a domestic incident. The officers arrived on the scene around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 15.

The officers determined that the victim, who they identified as a 49-year-old man, was standing outside of the home when a family member drove his vehicle onto the property. The victim moved out of the way to avoid being struck by the vehicle, authorities said.

The two family members entered into an argument in the home, police said. The accused originally fled the home, but he was later taken into custody by police when he returned to the residence.

A simple arrest did not stop this familial disagreement though, according to the police report.

"After being released, the accused returned to the residence, he and the victim engaged in an additional altercation," the police department wrote in a report. "During the altercation, the accused threw knives at the victim, grazing him."

Another family member was eventually able to separate the two men. The victim reported minor injuries from the thrown knives, police said.
