High School Graduation Rates Rise in Prince William County

Prince William County Public Schools says the on-time rate for graduation is 92 percent.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — The on-time graduation rate for Prince William County Public Schools students was a record 92 percent for students who began high school in 2011 and graduated in 2016, according to the school system.

Eight years ago, the rate was 83 percent.

  • Graduation rate for black students increased from 91.2%% in 2015 to 91.8% in 2016, compared with 88.3% percent statewide.
  • Graduation rate for Hispanic students increased from 85.0% in 2015 to 86.2% in 2016; the state rate is 82.8%.
  • Graduation rate for economically disadvantaged students increased from 87% in 2015 to 88.2% in 2016.
  • Graduation rate for English Learners increased from 76.7% in 2015 to 77.3% in 2016.

The state on-time graduation rate is 91.3 percent. Battlefield High led all county schools with a 98 percent on-time rate. Here are how all the schools fared:
