Hit And Run Driver Sought In Manassas Crash That Sent 75-Year-Old To The Hospital: Police
A helicopter flew a 75-year-old man to the hospital after a crash in Manassas on Sunday. A van driver fled the scene of the crash.

MANASSAS, VA — A car crash sent a 75-year-old man to the hospital on Sunday night in Manassas, police said. One of the drivers involved in the crash fled the scene, according to the police report.
Authorities are looking for the driver who abandoned their 2005 Chevrolet Express Van after the crash. The Prince William County Police Department did not have a suspect description available on Monday.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Centreville Road and Leland Road around 9:15 p.m. on Sunday night. The police department said the van was travelling northbound on Centreville Road when it crossed a double yellow line and hit a 2012 Nissan Sentra.

The collision caused the Nissan to spin into a neighboring lane, according to the police report. There, a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee hit the Nissan.
The driver of the van continued northbound on Centreville Road after the crash, authorities said. The driver abandoned the van nearby and ran away before police officers arrived on the scene, according to the police department.

Authorities said a police K-9 searched for the van driver, but they did not locate them.
Rescue personnel had to pull the driver of the Nissan, a 75-year-old man, out of the car. A helicopter flew him to an area hospital, where medical personnel said his injuries were not life-threatening, the police report said.
The driver of the Jeep reported minor injuries in the crash, police said.
