Hit-and-Run Suspect Arrested in Fauquier County: Police

The incident occurred Jan. 5 in Gainesville, according to Prince William County Police. The man arrested hit the victim with his car.

GAINESVILLE, VA — A man was arrested Wednesday for a hit-and-run incident Jan. 5 in the 14600 block of Lee Highway that left a man hospitalized, according to Prince William County Police.

Gerald Rodney Shepard, 38, of the 6800 block of Mill Valley Drive in Warrenton, was charged with felony hit and run.

He's being held without bond.

Shortly before 1:30 a.m., police responded to a parking lot in the aforementioned block where the 26-year-old victim said he and an unknown person had an intense argument, after which Shepard got into his vehicle, hit the victim and then fled.
