Prince William County Police urge public to take steps to prevent auto break-ins.

There have been several thefts recently from automobiles in the Bristow area, and the Prince William County Police Department is urging residents to take steps to avoid such break-ins.
Most thefts from motor vehicles are preventable, say police, if you practice TLC:

Take Out Valuables
If you can leave your valuables at home, do it. Otherwise, when you get to your destination, take your valuables with you. If you have to leave valuables in your automobile, put them in your trunk before you get to your destination.
This includes firearms! Please do not leave a firearm in your vehicle unsecured!

Close Doors and Windows
An open door or window allows a thief a quick and quiet way to enter your automobile. Take the time to make sure you closed everything.
