Judge To Expunge Murder Charges Against PWC Man Over 2010 Disappearance: Report
Timothy Hickerson will see the charges against him for Shane Donahue's murder expunged.
MANASSAS, VA – The Nokesville man charged but acquitted for the 2010 murder of fellow Nokesville resident Shane Donahue has had the charge expunged from his record.
The Prince William Times reports that Timothy Hickerson, who was charged with Donahue’s murder in 2024 and acquitted in 2025, met over video link with a Prince William County Circuit Court judge for 5 minutes on Friday for the expungement hearing.
Hickerson was charged with second-degree murder, concealing a dead body and burglary in connection with Donahue’s disappearance and presumed death 14 years after the events occurred. He was acquitted of the charges by a judge before the case was even considered by a jury.

Hickerson told the circuit court judge on Friday that the charges were causing him to lose job opportunities. The judge agreed that he had met the burden of proof, and the charges will no longer appear on routine background checks.
