Man Jumps Into Traffic, Punches Vehicles in Manassas: Police

Prince William County Police say he also assaulted EMS personnel who came to his aid.

MANASSAS, VA — A middle-aged man jumping in and out of traffic, punching and kicking several vehicles and becoming injured as a result before assaulting emergency personnel who came to his aid was arrested Tuesday afternoon, according to Prince William County Police.

Peter Steven De La Cruz, 46, of no fixed address, was charged with one count of assault and battery on an Emergency Medical Services officer and four counts of destruction of property.

Shortly after 1 p.m., police responded to a report of a disorderly person in the area of Wellington Road and Sudley Manor Drive.

Police say he caused minor damage to several vehicles, and after calling an EMS team for assistance, police say the accused struck an emergency worker in the leg. The worker wasn't injured.

De La Cruz is being held without bond.
