Linton Hall was a military school from its founding in 1922 through the late 1980s.
This is thorough description of daily life, military discipline and other memories of the school during the late 1960s, and analyzes the school’s positive qualities as well as its shortcomings from an adult perspective.
Includes extensive coverage of the school’s history, an analysis of a brochure from the 1940s, compared to the reality during the 1960s, and dozens of photos in black and white, as well as color photos on the back cover.

Interesting chapters include the school’s most famous alumnus, John Phillips of the rock group ”The Mamas and the Papas” and his recollections of the years he spent there during the 1940s, a compendium of various adventures the cadets engaged in without getting caught, descriptions of field trips and parades, as well as enrollment figures through the years.
An interesting, enlightening look at the past. (The school is no longer a military boarding school for boys.)
