MANASSAS, VA — A pedestrian who died Wednesday was struck by two vehicles in the Sudley Road and Balls Ford Road area of Manassas, according to investigators with the Prince William County Police Department. The driver of the second vehicle pulled into a nearby gas station after striking the victim, the police said Thursday.

Upon reviewing surveillance footage, police investigators learned that the pedestrian, identified as Alberto Anthony Marino, 62, of Bristow, was initially struck by a newer model silver Toyota Corolla before the vehicle continued straight on Sudley Road. The vehicle did not turn onto Balls Ford Road as the police initially believed on Wednesday.

Moments after the victim was initially hit, a second vehicle struck the victim as he laid in the roadway. The second vehicle then pulled into a nearby service station where the driver was seen pumping gas before driving away from the scene a short time later, the police said.
