The police charged Elizabeth Gissell Calquin-Osses, 34, of 5705 Artemus Road, with malicious wounding and reckless driving after she allegedly attacked an 18-year-old woman at the Parkridge Center, a police report stated. Her next date in court is scheduled for Sept. 21.

The young woman suffered minor injuries to her face, the police said. Both parties know each another, and this incident appeared to have stemmed from a previous encounter between the two, the police report stated.

Officers responded at 2 a.m. Friday to the 10700 block of Bulloch Drive, at the Parkridge Center, to investigate an assault. The victim told them that she had been driving her vehicle when she noticed she was being followed by another vehicle. The other vehicle’s driver forced her off the road and almost struck her bumper, she said.

The victim eventually stopped in the area of the Parkridge Center, just north of Interstate 66 and west of Sudley Road (Route 234). The other driver, identified as Calquin-Osses, got out of her vehicle and approached the young woman. She reached through the victim’s cracked window and struck her multiple times with her fists and keys, according to the police report.

After the assault, the accused left the area and the victim contacted police. Officers found Calquin-Osses at her residence in Gainesville and arrested her.
