Police: Manassas Park Man Shattered Doors at Convenience Store

Suspect jailed for destruction of property, other charges

A Manassas Park man was jailed over the weekend and faces several charges after allegedly breaking the front glass doors of a local convenience story early Saturday.

On Saturday morning, Manassas City Police officers met with the owner of In & Out Mart, 8930 Ashton Ave., regarding the destruction of property, according to a police report. They discoverfed that at around 5:30 a.m., a male subject had thrown himself into the front doors, shattering them and causing about $1,500 in damage. No entry was made into the store.

Subsequently, officers arrested a man who proved to be the same subject at a nearby 7-Eleven, at 8901 Godwin Drive, for being intoxicated in public, the report said.

For the incident at In & Out, Brett A. Edgar, 31, of 187 Cabbel Drive, was charged with unlawful entry and felony destruction of property.

He was being held Monday on a $4,000 bond at the Prince William Adult Detention Center. Edgar has a pending court date of March 3.
