Police: Pizza Man Robbed, Carjacked Near Manassas

A pizza deliveryman was robbed and had his car stolen after midnight Tuesday in a neighborhood north of Manassas, according to the Prince William County police.

The police recovered the victim’s car and tracked down and arrested one of the two suspects, a 16-year-old male juvenile from Manassas. No injuries were reported, and the victim’s car was not damaged.

The other suspect remains at large, police said. He’s described as a black male, between 15 and 19 years of age, and 6 feet 1 inches tall with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a red shirt with cut-off sleeves, gray basketball-style shorts and a ski mask.

The police responded at 12:35 a.m. Wednesday to the robbery scene in the 10400 block of Saint Croix Lane, in the Townes of Ashleigh community, according to a police report. The victim, a 29-year-old Catlett man, told police that he was delivering a pizza to an address in the area when he was flagged down by a male individual, later identified as one of the suspects, near the address.

The suspect told the victim that he called for the pizza and was waiting for a friend to bring money. The second suspect then appeared and displayed a weapon, ordering the victim to the ground, the police report said.

At that point, the suspects took the victim’s money, the pizza, a cell phone and car keys before the juvenile suspect got into the victim’s car and fled the area. The other suspect fled on foot.

A police officer responding to the scene located the victim’s car in a nearby parking lot, the police report said. When the officer approached the vehicle, the juvenile jumped out of the driver’s seat and fled on foot.

The police called in a helicopter and an officer with a police dog to search for the suspect, and they eventually found him in the area and arrested him. They could not find the other suspect, the police report said.

The 16-year-old juvenile been charged with robbery, carjacking, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, conspiracy to commit a felony and possession of stolen property. He is being held at the Prince William Juvenile Detention Center, and his next date in court is pending.
