Sixth Time's The Charm For Manassas New Year's Lottery Winner

MANASSAS, VA — For a Manassas resident, playing the Virginia’s New Year’s Millionaire Raffle wasn't lucky for five years. But it turned out the sixth time's the charm as he scored a runner-up prize of $100,000 in 2024.

The Manassas winner's ticket was one of seven that won the $100,000 prize in the Virginia’s New Year’s Millionaire Raffle. The other six $100,000 tickets were from Suffolk, Poquoson, Yorktown, Virginia Beach, Lynchburg and Henrico. Top prize tickets winning $1 million were purchased in Manassas, Arlington, Fredericksburg, Leesburg and Stafford. Another 1,000 tickets won $500 each.

The winning ticket was from the 7-Eleven at 6865 Wellington Road in Manassas. He plans to use his winnings to start a business.
