Sterling Shooting Victim From Manassas
A 28-year-old man from Manassas has died after an apparent botched home invasion in Sterling Thursday night led to gunfire.

Authorities are investigating the possibility that the shooting death of a Manassas man in Sterling Thursday night was the result of a botched home invasion.
Shortly after 8:30 p.m., deputies from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on the 1200 block of E. Kennedy Drive for a report of a suspicious event. Occupants of the home told deputies two men broke in and attempted to rob them.
One robber was reportedly shot and remained in the residence, while a second man fled, according to a police report. Seven people were in the home during the invasion, according to authorities, and have all been accounted for.
Deputies searched the home and found an adult male suspect with a gunshot wound. That person has been identified as Anthony Devoure Miles, a 28-year-old black male from Manassas. He was transported to Inova Loudoun Hospital in Lansdowne where he was pronounced dead. Miles lived with family in Manassas, though he had lived off and on in the Sterling area during the past few years.
Another person, believed to be the man who fled the scene, arrived sometime during the night at the same hospital with a gunshot wound. He was transferred to Inova Fairfax Hospital where he was initially listed in critical but stable condition. His condition is now being called stable.
