Updated Weather Warning Until Sunday Morning

Look outside and you’ll know the mess we’ve had for almost a week just got worse.

The National Weather Service has expanded a Winter Storm Warning to include much of the region, including Manassas, Prince William County, Fairfax, and surrounding areas.

The warning is in effect until 6 a.m. Sunday. The forecast is for a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain into early Sunday morning. Between 3 and 6 inches of snow is expected.

The snow will change to sleet and freezing rain late in the afternoon and early Saturday evening before ending as rain.

“Snow and ice will cause hazardous traveling conditions Saturday through early Sunday morning,” according to the NWS.
