The Virginia Department of Transportation will host public information meetings this evening and Wednesday evening on the results of a traffic operational and safety study to identify short-term recommendations to improve traffic on Route 28 (Centreville Road) from south of Interstate 66 to Liberia Avenue in Manassas. The study analyzed traffic data to identify locations where low-cost improvements may be made to the corridor.

“The study concluded that if the recommended short-term congestion and safety improvements are implemented, travel times will be reduced and traffic operations in the Route 28 Corridor will improve,” said Tom Fahrney, a VDOT official. “After the comments from the public information meetings are reviewed and considered, the study team’s next steps will be to seek funding for preliminary design of the recommended improvements.”

The public can stop by between 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at these locations:
