MCLEAN, VA — Two executives from McLean-based companies were among the 17 distinguished leaders named 2024 Virginia Black Business Leaders by Virginia Business.
Choosing from a pool of 60 executives who were nominated by readers and last year's honorees, Virginia Business editors scored the nominees on overall achievement, community impact, and mentorship.

- Deborah Gandy, senior managing director, wealth advisor and relationship manager at Chevy Chase Trust
- Shawn Purvis, president and CEO of QinetiQ
Gandy serves as an executive at Chevy Chase Trust, which has more than $35 billion in assets under management. She also chairs the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce.
Since 2022, Purvis has led the U.S. operations of British aerospace company QinetiQ.
