MCLEAN, VA — Two new retail tenants will soon be opening in the ground floor of the Heming, a 6.5 million-square-foot mixed-use project at the foot of the McLean Metro Station, according to the development and construction firm Skanska.

Sunday Morning Bakehouse will be located adjacent to Heming's residential lobby and Apparati Wellness Studio will open in a 3,700-square-foot space on Platform Avenue.

“We are delighted to have two new local retailers join our growing neighborhood and cannot wait for our community to experience first-class wellness at Apparati Wellness Studio and an all-day community gathering spot like Sunday Morning Bakehouse,” said Mark Carroll, executive vice president and regional manager of Skanska USA Commercial Development’s D.C. market. “Both concepts align with our vision of Heming becoming a true live-work-play destination in this area.”

Following on its initial success at Pike & Rose in North Bethesda, Sunday Morning Bakehouse, a family and female-owned bakery, expects to open its second store and first location in Northern Virginia in winter 2024. The bakery specializes in handmade croissants, seasonal breads and pastries, and special occasion cakes made with high-quality ingredients.

“My goal in creating Sunday Morning Bakehouse was to provide a place for people to come and have a moment of peace whether it's catching up with a friend over a cup of coffee and fresh croissant or having lunch outside of the office,” said Caroline Yi, chef and owner of Sunday Morning Bakehouse. “I wanted people to know where their food was coming from and know that their bread and pastries were baked fresh that day. We're excited to expand into Northern Virginia and provide the same amazing food people know and love to a new community.”
