Advocacy Group Raises $50,000 for Historic Colvin Run Mill

The money, raised over the course of 15 years, will be used to make capital improvements the historic Great Falls-based landmark.

Friends of Colvin Run Mill recently presented the Fairfax County Park Foundation with a check for $50,000 aimed toward making capital improvements to the mill, located in Great Falls, according to a Fairfax County news release.

The funds were raised over the course of 15 years, and the release highlighted Marjorie Lundegard as one of its primary fundraisers during that time. Lundegard worked with local thrift shops and sold publications she’d written through the years to help inspire others to contribute to the cause.

Friends of Colvin Run Mill is a group that supports the historic northern Virginia landmark through volunteerism, fundraising and advocacy.
