Bad Weather in Forecast This Weekend for McLean

You better bundle up! The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for snow, sleet and freezing rain in effect from 9 a.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday.

The advisory covers the entire Washington area and Baltimore, and it means the bad weather will cause hazardous travel conditions. The weather service tells motorists to be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibility, and to use caution while driving.

The forecast calls for 1 to 3 inches of snow, with trace accumulations of ice. The weather service says the snow will start falling early Saturday afternoon and continue into the evening, then mix with sleet and turn into freezing rain late Saturday night.
Temperatures will be in the upper teens to lower 20s early Saturday, increasing to the middle and upper 20s in the evening. They will be steady to slowly rising from Saturday night to early Sunday, the weather service says.
Tonight, the latest forecast calls for temperatures to fall to as low as 10 degrees, with a wind chill of -1.
