This week, we are digging into two forces that shape politics long before anyone casts a ballot: the stories people believe and the groups they belong to. How do we stay clear-eyed when the noise gets louder? How do we understand what is happening without being consumed by it? And how do we move people toward action before November?

Antonia Scatton is a political messaging expert and author of Reframing America. She has spent more than 25 years helping candidates, campaigns and organizations understand how language, framing and values shape what people hear and what persuades them. She joins us to talk about how Democrats communicate more effectively, why simply repeating facts is not enough, and how better messaging can help reach people beyond the already-convinced. https://antoniascatton.com/about/

Daniella Mestyanek Young is an author, Army combat veteran, cult survivor and researcher of group behavior, extremism and leadership demagoguery. Her new book, The Culting of America, examines how coercive group dynamics show up far beyond traditional cults, including in political movements and trusted institutions, and explores the line between belonging and control. Knitting Cult Lady: https://knittingcultlady.com/pages/about

Together, these conversations get at a fascinating question: How do people come to believe what they believe, and how do we reach them when identity, fear, belonging and political messaging all collide? RSVP at https://tinyurl.com/fpl2026b
