Candidate Meet-And-Greet Planned For McLean Community Center Election
Residents can meet adult candidates running for three seats on the McLean Community Center governing board.

MCLEAN, VA — As voting continues for the McLean Community Center governing board election, an adult candidate meet-and-greet is planned Saturday.
The adult candidate meet-and-greet will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. in the McLean Room at the McLean Community Center. There are nine adult candidates running for three seats in the 2022 election. Residents can chat with candidates, ask questions and share feedback on the McLean Community Center.
The McLean Community Center governing board sets policies and budget for the McLean Community Center as well as provides oversight for programs and facilities. The 11-member board is made up of nine adults who serve three-year terms and two youth candidates who serve one-year terms, one each from the McLean High School and Langley High School boundaries. Members must live in the McLean Community Center boundaries (Small District 1A-Dranesville).

Adult candidates include Anna Bartosiewicz, Debra Butler, Ari Ghasemian, Katie Gorka, Kristina Groennings, Lauren S. Kahn, James Lawless, Maire Shine and Ishah "Laurah Guillen" Wright.
Aside from nine adult candidates, there are three youth candidates running for the board: Charlotte Loving, Max Blacksten and Sarah Tran. See candidate statements for adult and youth candidates here.

Adults in Small District 1A-Dranesville can vote for adult candidates, while teens aged 15 to 17 as of May 21 can vote for youth candidates. Early voting for the governing board election started in mid-March and will continue through 5 p.m. on May 18. Residents may request ballots for their household using an online form, calling 703-744-9348 or emailing elections@mcleancenter.org. In-person voting is also available at the McLean Community Center.
The last chance to vote will be in person at McLean Day on May 21 from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Winners will be announced in the days after the election, followed by certification by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. New members will be sworn in on June 8.
