MCLEAN, VA — The McLean Citizens Association's board of directors will meet on Wednesday at 7 p.m. to consider several agenda items.

The meeting will be held virtually on Zoom and will start earlier than usual due to the number of items on the agenda. The meeting will also be livestreamed on the MCA's Facebook page. A recording of the meeting will be available in the MCA Video Library within 48 hours of the meeting.

Among the agenda items are two proposed letters. One letter provides comments on the Fairfax County Department of Transportation’s Dolley Madison Boulevard Corridor Study.

“The MCA appreciates FCDOT’s efforts to develop short-term improvements for the Dolley Madison corridor and looks forward to the County’s moving forward with design and construction of the short-term improvements supported by the MCA and the community,” the draft letter to the FCDOT states.

The other letter addresses the current draft of the McLean Community Center Strategic Plan.

“The MCA is overall supportive of the preparation of a new strategic plan for the McLean Community Center (“MCC”) (and inclusion of items such as sustainability),” the MCA draft letter says. “The goal of our feedback is to enhance the community’s understanding of the goals and objectives.”

The MCA, in its draft letter, states “there are opportunities to enhance the language used to describe the Plan and to be more specific on the vision and goals.”

Aside from the meeting on Wednesday, upcoming meetings include a virtual Public Safety Forum on July 14 at 7 p.m. and MCA's September Board of Directors Meeting on Sept. 7 at 7:30 p.m.

The all-volunteer MCA serves as a "non-partisan source for reliable information and analysis on schools, land-use planning and zoning, traffic and transportation, County budgets and taxes, environment and recreational facilities, and public safety."
