Slime, Science And Trucks: Curiosity Club Coming To The Boro

TYSONS, VA — Families can experiment with slime, catch a live science show and get an up-close look at police cruisers and other service vehicles when Curiosity Club comes to The Boro in Tysons on Saturday, Oct. 3.

The free event will run from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at The Boro, 8350 Broad St. It is open to the public, with advance registration encouraged. A rain date is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Curiosity Club is designed as a hands-on STEM event featuring science, crafts and activities for children and families, according to event organizers.

Slime, Science And Touch-A-Truck

Children will be able to mix and measure ingredients at a slime-making station and take their creations home. The Science Guys of Baltimore bring science to life through an interactive show for the whole family.

Other activities will include STEM-themed crafts and glitter tattoos. Organizers said the projects are intended to encourage children to explore science, technology, engineering and math through hands-on activities.

A touch-a-truck portion of the event will give families a chance to explore police cruisers, recycling trucks and other vehicles. Children will be able to climb aboard some of the vehicles, ask questions and meet professionals who work with them. Organizers said the activity will also introduce children to concepts involving engineering, construction and public service.

The event is free, although organizers encourage attendees to register in advance through Eventbrite.
