Deer On Metro Tracks Causes Delay Outside McLean Station
The deer appeared to be "playing chicken" with Metro workers. One rider tweeted: "seems to be a tough negotiation job."

Metro workers were apparently caught "playing chicken" with a deer on the train's path outside the McLean Station Thursday morning.
The incident happened on the Silver Line reportedly between the McLean and East Falls Church Stations. Transit watchdog organization Rail Transit OPS tweeted at 6:32 a.m. that inbound Silver Line trains were holding outside of McLean due to a "deer in the roadway which appears to be playing chicken with a train."
Trains were temporarily holding as WMATA workers tried to get it to move.

One rider's tweets about the incident couldn't help but be tinged with humor.

“The deer is in the middle of our track, the transit authorities are working on it” says the announcement now. Seems to be a tough negotiation job for transit authorities @wmata #metro

Can we send a message to this deer? “Dear deer, we are getting late for work. It has already been more than 25 minutes you have stopped the train” @wmata #metro #morningCommute
