Dupont Circle's Agora Is Expanding To Tysons

The Mediterranean eatery will open its first Northern Virginia location in June.

TYSONS, VA—You won't need to head over to Dupont Circle to dine at Mediterranean eatery Agora soon. The local mainstay working to open a location at 7911 Westpark Drive in Tysons this June. A specific opening date has not been set.

The name Agora means gathering place and originates from ancient Greece. It has been open for nearly a decade in Dupont Circle and serves Turkish, Greek, Lebanese and other Mediterranean favorites like kibbeh nayeh, grilled octopus, braised short ribs and more. Dinner and late-night menus will be available right away, while lunch and brunch will debut later this year. The drink offerings range from the sweetened anise-flavored Raki and rose liqueur to a wine and beer list featuring Mediterranean and DC area vineyards and breweries.

"From our authentic charcoal grill to the imported Turkish decor, we are excited to serve up a truly Mediterranean experience at Agora and are thrilled to be bringing our very best to this vibrant corner of northern Virginia," said Agora Chef Ghassan Jarrouj in a statement.

Agora Tysons will be located on the ground floor of the Nouvelle building. The 4,000-square-foot restaurant will feature Turkish decor, a mezzanine level, a 12-seat chef’s bar overlooking the kitchen, a charcoal grill and custom brick oven.

Agora Tysons will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
