The September meeting of the McLean Historical Society will feature Phyllis Verhalen, of McLean, discussing the life of First Lady Julia Dent Grant. Ms. Verhalen, former chair of the Fairfax County Tree Commission, has lectured widely on the lives of several First Ladies, including before the McLean Rotary Club, the Williamsburg Woman's Club, and the DC branch of the National League of American Pen Women. All those interested are welcome and encouraged to attend.
