Fairfax Coronavirus Update: 122 New Cases

There are 122 new coronavirus cases in Fairfax County as of Friday, according to newly released data from the Fairfax County Health District

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA – There are 122 new coronavirus cases in Fairfax County as of Friday, according to newly released data from the Fairfax County Health District, bringing the cumulative total of coronavirus cases in the county to 20,832.

There have been a total 2,173 hospitalized patients and 600 coronavirus-related deaths in the health district to date.

There are 20,627 total coronavirus cases in Fairfax County, with 1,792.4 cases per 100,000 people. There are 135 total coronavirus cases in the City of Fairfax, with 549.4 cases per 100,000. There are 70 total cases in Falls Church, with 473.9 cases per 100,000.

The breakdown of cases by age group is as follows:

  • 0-17: 2,012 cases
  • 18-49: 11,972 cases
  • 50-64: 4,269 cases
  • 65+: 2,556 cases

  • 50-64: 75 deaths
  • 65+: 498 deaths

Across the state, there are 941 new cases of the coronavirus in Virginia as of Friday, according to the Virginia Department of Health, up from the 902 new cases reported on Thursday. The Department of Health also reported 23 additional coronavirus-related deaths on Friday.

The cumulative total number of cases in Virginia is 144,433 and the cumulative total number of coronavirus-related deaths across the state is 3,3136. Hospitalizations have increased to 10,806, up from 10,769 reported on Thursday.
