Fireworks, Concert Planned At Wolf Trap Summer Blast Off

Kick off the summer with fireworks and a performance by the country's oldest active band.

Wolf Trap's Summer Blast Off, a free Memorial Day weekend tradition with music and fireworks, will return Sunday, May 27 at the Filene Center.

"The President's Own" United States Marine Band kicks off the concert venue's summer season with a performance of concert band favorites. A fireworks display will follow the concert.

The patriotic performance is free and begins at 8 p.m. Gates will open at 6:30 p.m. The fireworks viewing area opens following the performance around 9:30 p.m. Fireworks will begin at about 9:45 p.m.

"The President's Own" United States Marine Band was founded in 1798 and is the country's oldest active band. Its mission is to perform for the President of the United States and the Commandant of the Marine Corps. The band has performed at the annual Wolf Trap concert for 47 years.

The park will close at capacity. Pedestrian foot traffic through the trails behind the park will be fenced off for this event. Attendees must enter through the main gate.
