First Urban Plates On East Coast Opens In Tysons Corner
The restaurant offers made-from-scratch plates, sandwiches and more ordered at cafeteria-like stations.
MCLEAN, VA — Urban Plates, a California-based chain serving sandwiches, salads, soups, plates, desserts and more, has opened its first East Coast location at Tysons Galleria. The restaurant opened Monday, July 16 to the public.
Customers order cafeteria-style at Urban Plates' salad, sandwich and plates station. Selections range from thw wild ahi tuna banh mi sandwich ($9.95) to plates like grass-fed steak served with two sides and rustic bread ($12.95). Sides ($3.95) like mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, garden tomato mozzarella salad and fresh sliced fruit can be purchased a la carte as well.
Desserts ($2.50 and up) such as the popular Urban Cowgirl cookie, cheesecake, cakes and more are available on display. All offerings are made from scratch with fresh ingredients.

Although the restaurant brings many favorites from its California locations, it puts a regional spin on specialties like the roasted corn and crab soup and roasted Old Bay potatoes. The restaurant aims to be a happy hour stop also with its selections of local beer and wine.

The dining area features a rustic design with 132 indoor and 26 outdoor patio seats, Eater DC reports. Delivery, take-out and catering are available.
The restaurant is located at 1782M in Tysons Galleria, 2001 International Drive, McLean. Hours are 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
