Flies Swarm The Kitchen: McLean Restaurant Violations

MCLEAN, VA — Fairfax County regularly conducts health inspections for local restaurants. The frequency of inspections on the type of food served and how it is prepared.

“In our experience, it is unrealistic to expect that a complex, full-service food operation can routinely avoid any violations,” states the Virginia Department of Health’s website.

Here are some of the violations from McLean inspections in September. Among the violations were 11 violations at Busara Restaurant, including flies throughout the kitchen. A number of the violations were corrected during the inspection, and the restaurant will follow up with a pest control service.

Also included are restaurants with no violations. Reports are typically posted five to seven days after the inspections. Full reports are available on the health department’s website. Click on the violations to see each restaurant's results.

violations: employee not washing hands after using bathroom, food items in damaged packaging, raw beef stored over eggs, improper method of thawing chicken, foods hot holding at improper temperatures, foods not dated or discarded within 24 hours, door kept open could allow entry of pests (all corrected), cook line equipment covered in grease and debris, flies found in kitchen, hood filters, floors, walls and ceilings in eed of cleaning

violations: pesticides improperly stored in the facility (corrected)

Paul Bakery: 1858G Galleria at Tysons I, Mclean, VA 22102, last inspection: Sept. 11
