MCLEAN, VA — After Monday's flash flooding damaged the McLean Little League complex on Westmoreland Street, the group has started a fundraiser to cover repair costs.

The GoFundMe page raised over $31,000 in a matter of days. According to the page, McLean Little League does not have flood insurance, and repairs "will take a significant amount of time and financial resources."

Photos posted on McLean Little League's website show severe damage to the dugouts and fencing, along with flooding to cars that were parked there. The organization asked visitors to stay off the property until it's deemed safe. McLean Little League will share updates via its website, Facebook and Twitter.

Heavy rain accumulating in a short time frame caused flooding in McLean and other parts of the region Monday. Other flooding impacts include the long-term closure of the 1300 block of Kirby Road in McLean. Virginia Department of Transportation crews continue to make repairs.
