Get a Sneak Peak of Rehearsal Photos From Upcoming 'Footloose' Musical at Alden Theatre

We're still a couple weeks before the opening of the musical "Footloose" at the Alden Theatre in McLean, but you can catch a glimpse of what's going on behind the scenes right now.

Photos have been released of the early rehearsals by the McLean Community Players, which is producing the musical, in advance of the show's opening July 8.

The musical will run through July 24 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and on Sundays at 2 p.m. at the Alden Theatre. The musical is based on the film of the same name.

"Footloose is an exciting show that makes some of us hearken back to the 1980s," Director Shaun Moe said in a recent statement. "I wanted to direct and choreograph Footloose because it is just so much fun to work on. It has the traditional conventions of American teenage rebellion, young love, comic relief and high-energy songs and dances. It's the sort of show that leaves you singing as you head to the exits. Beyond the more popular songs, are some gems of musical theater, such as 'Mama Says,' which brings down the house."
