MCLEAN, VA — An upscale Maryland restaurant chain is expanding into Northern Virginia and plans to open a 170-seat restaurant in McLean with nightly live entertainment, outdoor dining, and a private wine room.

Glenwood's has signed a lease for a roughly 7,000-square-foot restaurant at Chesterbrook Shopping Center, marking the chain's first Virginia location, according to Blueridge Restaurant Group, the Maryland-based company behind the brand.

Construction is expected to begin in early 2027, with an anticipated opening in fall 2027. The restaurant is expected to create about 90 full- and part-time jobs in management, culinary, hospitality and support positions.

The chain currently operates three Maryland restaurants in Columbia, Rockville and Owings Mills.

"We've spent years building Glenwood's into a trusted regional dining brand known for exceptional hospitality and consistently high-quality experiences," said David Jones, managing member of Blueridge Restaurant Group. "McLean is an important next step for us."

Jones said the company chose McLean for its dining market and the opportunity to establish a presence at Chesterbrook Shopping Center.

Federal Realty, which owns the shopping center, acquired the property about five years ago and has been working to expand and improve its retail and dining offerings.

"Glenwood's decision to open its first Virginia location at Chesterbrook is a tremendous testament to the center's evolution and enduring appeal," said Mike Ennes, senior vice president of asset management for Federal Realty.

The McLean restaurant will be Glenwood's fourth location as Blueridge Restaurant Group continues expanding throughout the Washington-Baltimore region.

The company said it is also exploring additional restaurant opportunities along the East Coast.
