Global Italian Food Retailer Bringing First Greater D.C. Location To NoVA In 2027

Eataly plans its first Greater Washington location at Tysons Corner Center, bringing restaurants and an Italian marketplace in 2027.

TYSONS, VA Tysons Corner Center will become home to the Greater Washington area's first Eataly, with the Italian marketplace and dining destination expected to open in 2027.

The global Italian food retailer announced Wednesday that it will open a two-level location at the Tysons shopping center, marking its first store serving the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. The new space will include both an entrance from inside Tysons Corner Center and a dedicated exterior entrance.

The forthcoming location will feature Eataly's signature mix of restaurants, quick-service dining and a specialty market offering imported Italian products.

Eat, Shop And Learn

According to the company, the Tysons store will follow Eataly's "eat, shop and learn" concept, combining multiple dining options with grocery shopping and educational experiences centered on Italian food and culture.

"We're thrilled to bring Eataly to Tysons Corner Center and introduce our unique experience to the Greater Washington community," the company said in announcing the project.

The Tysons location is being developed in partnership with shopping center owner Macerich.

Eataly currently operates 69 locations in 16 countries, including 20 stores across the United States and Canada. The Tysons store represents the company's first expansion into the Washington metropolitan market.

Tysons Corner Center is one of the region's largest retail destinations, encompassing about 2 million square feet. The mall is anchored by Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, Macy's and a 16-screen AMC Theatres and features more than 300 stores and restaurants. According to Macerich, the shopping center attracts more than 17.5 million visitors annually.

An exact opening date and additional details about the Tysons location have not yet been announced.
