Goodwin Living Expands Rehab Services At The Lewinsville In McLean
New on-site fitness and physical therapy help low-income seniors maintain independence and mobility through specialized nonprofit care.

MCLEAN, VA — The Lewinsville Retirement Residence and Goodwin Living announced Wednesday an expansion of their long-standing partnership to bring specialized fitness, yoga and rehabilitation services to low-income older adults in McLean.
The move provides the 170 residents of The Lewinsville with on-site access to Goodwin Rehabilitation. The services are designed to help seniors maintain independence through physical and occupational therapy, focusing on mobility and safety to avoid the necessity of assisted living or nursing care.
“The Lewinsville is thrilled to expand our partnership with Goodwin Living ... especially because our residents have limited resources to access many health services,” said Courtney Nuzzo, executive director of The Lewinsville. “Having rehabilitation staff on site provides convenience and easy access to participate in maintaining their independence.”

The expansion comes as Fairfax County faces a continued need for affordable senior support. In 2025, the county reported approximately 3,500 affordable senior housing units, many of which offer only independent living options.
Goodwin Rehabilitation will offer personalized physical therapy and specialty programs, including fall prevention, vestibular rehabilitation and recovery protocols for joint replacements and strokes. The program also features Vitala, an exercise technology platform that allows for progress tracking and therapist oversight.

“By integrating specialized fitness and rehabilitative care, we are deepening our mission to honor and uplift older adults, ensuring they have the tools to thrive physically and socially,” said Rob Liebreich, president and CEO of Goodwin Living.
In addition to clinical services, the partnership includes group exercise classes focused on strength, balance and flexibility. Seasonal activities, such as outdoor walking groups, will be adjusted based on resident needs and abilities.
Goodwin Living, a faith-based nonprofit, has provided management and administrative support to The Lewinsville since 2000. The Lewinsville, established in 1975 as a mission of The Lewinsville Presbyterian Church, provides federally assisted housing for adults ages 62 and older.
The two organizations plan to host an open house in the coming months for local officials and media to view the new facilities and programs in action.
