Greater McLean Chamber Announces Public Safety Program

Greater McLean Chamber joins with McLean, Great Falls and Fairfax County Citizens Associations to host a Public Safety Preparedness Program.

From the Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce: The Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce announced it is collaborating with the McLean Citizens Association, the Great Falls Citizens Association and the Fairfax County Federation of Citizens Associations to host a Public Safety Preparedness Program on March 29. To be held at American Legion McLean Post 270 at 7:00 p.m., the Program will feature representatives from all levels of government and a business panel convened by McLean Insurance Agency.

The event will feature the following presentations:

"Disasters & Keeping the Doors Open” - Business Continuity Panel featuring McLean Insurance Agency, Quality Business Coaching, Jewell Technical Consulting, and Continuity Dynamics, Inc.

"Ready NOVA: Preparedness Planning for Residents, Businesses & Faith Communities” presented by Rob Brown, Virginia Department of Emergency Management

"Active Shooters: Past Washington-area Events and How to Respond” presented byJ. Michael Talbot, Special Agent, FBI Strategic Partner Program

"Having a Plan & How to Build a Kit" presented by Grelia Steele, Community Outreach Manager, Fairfax County Office of Emergency Management

"We are thrilled to work with three venerable citizens associations to inform interested Fairfax County citizens and businesses about the vital topic of emergency preparedness,” said Paul Kohlenberger, President of the Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce. “The Chamber would like to especially thank member American Legion Post 270 for hosting, member McLean Insurance Agency for arranging a business panel, and McLean Citizens Association Public Safety Liaison Patrick Smaldore for his assistance in arranging for a distinguished group of presenters," Kohlenberger continued. The event is free and open to the public.

What: Public Safety Preparedness Program, co-sponsored by the Greater McLean Chamber, the McLean Citizens Association, the Great Falls Citizens Association and the Fairfax County Federation of Citizens Associations

Who: Representatives from the FBI Washington Field Office, the Virginia Department of Emergency Management, the Fairfax County Office of Emergency Manageement and the Northern Virginia business community
