Sure, we wish we were all Martha Stewart and hadn’t forgotten a single thing for those holiday meals, but sometimes you have to send someone out for fried onions for the green bean casserole or marshmallows for hot chocolate.

• Safeway: Closes at 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve; open on Christmas Day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Giant: Closes at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve; open on Christmas Day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• The Fresh Market: Closes at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve; closed on Christmas Day
• Trader Joe’s: Closes at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve; closed on Christmas Day
• Harris Teeter: Closes at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve; closed on Christmas Day
• Whole Foods Market: Closes at 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve; closed on Christmas Day
