Heat Advisory Sunday Afternoon

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the region from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Heat index, or “feels like,” temperatures are expected to climb up to 105 degrees.

The NWS warns heat-related illness is a risk for those without air conditioning or outdoors for an extended period.

“When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening,” according to the NWS statement. “Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water.”
