TYSONS, VA — Disney Stores will soon be a thing of the past in Virginia as the last remaining locations close.

The store at Potomac Mills in Woodbridge was recently identified as one of the stores that would close by Sept. 15. Now the location at Tysons Corner Center in McLean is listed as closing on or before Sept. 22. Maryland's last location at the Clarksburg Premium Outlets is also closing by Sept. 15.

Disney first announced in March it would close around 60 stores in 2021, according to a USA Today report. While Disney Stores have traditionally been a popular stop for families to get Disney clothes, toys and other themed products in the mall, Disney has found success in the digital age with online sales. As reported by USA Today, Disney cited a greater focus on online sales with the store closure news.

Upcoming closures are reflected on individual location pages, searchable through the store locator website. The Times Square location in New York City is one of the Disney Stores remaining open.

Closures do not apply to stores within Disney parks or inside Target stores, according to USA Today's report. More Disney stores are expected to open inside Target stores.
